The DC Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation (the Trust) is a public-private partnership chartered by the District to help a wide variety of organizations improve services and opportunities for every child in the city. The Trust works to increase resources and invest in the people, programs and systems that serve children, youth and their families in the District of Columbia. The partnership includes public schools, city agencies, employers and non-profit providers. Since its inception in 1999, the Trust has provided grants, technical assistance, youth worker training, capacity building, convening, and policy support at the local level, while it has engaged in learning opportunities, policy forums and innovation at the national level. Carrera Trust at ATA program is a partnership between the Trust and the Children’s Aid Society to offer a highly effective program that combines academic enrichment, career exploration, arts, sports and sexuality education as a means of comprehensively preventing teen pregnancy. MORE>>
Project My Time is an initiative to build a system to improve the quality of after-school and summer programs in DC and to get more kids to participate in those programs. Funded by The Wallace Foundation in June 2006, Project My Time offers free high-quality, after-school programs in middle schools in the District.
