Youth and Family Agencies in the District Gather for
Conference on Supporting the District’s Youth

WASHINGTON, DCThe D.C. Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation will host a citywide conference for youth and family agencies. The organizations will share strategies on strengthening their programs to better serve youth and targeting their services to the needs of their communities and their youth. The conference will feature breakout sessions on developing community capacity, making youth development concepts live in your program, and supporting successful transitions for youth into and out of programs.

The conference will feature a resource exchange fair, including representatives from Advocates for Justice and Education, Center for Nonprofit Advancement, Children’s National Adolescent Prevention Education Programs, CitiDC, DC Public Schools, Gates Millennium Scholars, Junior Achievement, National Geographic Institution, National Science and Technology Education Partnership (NSTEP), PBS Kids Ready to Learn, PNC Bank, Promising Futures, Public Access Corporation of DC (DCTV), Reach for College!, and Smithsonian Natural History Museum.

The DC Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation is the primary resource for developing partnerships that expand and improve services and opportunities for children and youth in the District of Columbia, especially during their time out of school.  The partnerships include public schools, city agencies, and employers, including non-profit providers.
