Getting Back to the Why? The Trust Youth Development Conference
![]() |
On October 26-27, 2010 at The George Washington University Marvin Center, the Trust hosted the first annual Trust Citywide Youth Development Conference. The theme of the conference was Getting Back to the “Why.” It represents the need for youth serving programs to tap back into the passion that formed a commitment of serving youth in creative ways. Many staff become ingrained in the day to day administration so much that they lose track of re-developing their programs to fit changing needs. The conference served as a recharge for seasoned program staff and a stepping stone for new staff looking to channel their passion for youth development.
The first day featured a pre-conference for FY11 Trust grantees that focused on grant guidelines and provided program specific resources. On day two, the conference provided a resource fair, plenary and breakout sessions on various resources and products.
